- After installing a Lifestyle 28.8 internal modem with Windows 95 and finding
- it installed on a mythical COM5, I found Motorola's FAQ which showed how to
- edit the Windows 95 registry to get the Control Panel/Modems/Properties to
- show installation on (in my case) COM2. However, when I go to Control
- Panel/System/Device Manager, it shows a COM1 (in my case, my mouse) and COM5!
-
- I later found I could delete the COM5, reinstall the modem, and it would auto
- install on COM2 and show up in Control Panel/Modems/Diagnostics, but it would
- not show up in Device Manager. This is how I have left it for the moment.
-
- Is there any way I can have COM2 correctly listed in Device Manager and
- Modems/Diagnostics with the proper information?
